Description of the work:
The Verification & Enforcement Capacity Building includes the training and information exchange activities for state officials related to the legislation, verification & enforcement aspects of appliance labelling and energy efficiency policy, as well as general aspects of the EU regulations and policies. This directly relates to:
· Knowledge and understanding of the relevant EU Acquis and the national transposition and implementation process;
· Knowledge and understanding of the relevant EU and individual EU member state policies (negotiated agreements, action plans, programs).
The following activities have been accomplished:
Ø Elaboration of training programme for national experts;
Ø Organization of training sessions in the form of workshops with national experts and/or individual consultations with the high-level representatives of each of key local stakeholders, mainly government administrators (Standards & Labels, legal), energy agency staff, state inspectorates, and testing agencies;
Ø International and local experts provided state of the art analysis and best policy, regulatory and enforcement practices for an input for the training programme and workshops.
Results of this activity:
1. Training programme for national government officials and experts
2. Verification and Enforcement workshop or 4 consultations in each country to 5 - 12 key people each.
